Blood Tests

At Fort Wayne Mobile Drug & Alcohol Testing LLC, we provide safe, sterile, and efficient phlebotomy services for drug/alcohol testing and diagnostic blood work. Our certified collectors follow strict protocols to ensure accurate, hygienic, and stress-free blood draws.

Blood Collection Process:

Preparation & Identification

  • Verify donor/patient ID and test requisition forms

  • Confirm fasting requirements (if applicable)

  • Explain the procedure and address concerns

Sterile Venipuncture

  • Use single-use, OSHA-compliant equipment (needles, tubes, etc.)

  • Select proper vein site (typically median cubital)

  • Cleanse with alcohol swabs for infection control

Sample Handling

  • Fill appropriate tubes (SST, EDTA, etc. per test requirements)

  • Label immediately with unique identifiers

  • Invert tubes gently (if needed for clotting/mixing)

Post-Draw Care

  • Apply pressure and bandage to puncture site

  • Monitor for dizziness or discomfort

  • Dispose of sharps in biohazard containers

Chain of Custody (For Legal/Workplace Tests)

  • Seal samples with tamper-evident labels

  • Complete all documentation (collector/donor signatures)

  • Refrigerate/store per lab specifications
